  • Ikelite Releases OM System TG-7 Housing and Ecko Strobe Kits

Ikelite Releases OM System TG-7 Housing and Ecko Strobe Kits

Underwater Housing, OM System Tough TG-7 Camera and Ecko Strobes Wide Angle Kit

Following the launch of its Ecko DS and Ecko Fiber strobes, Ikelite has launched two new kits bundling the fiber-optically triggered model. The kits combine the OM System Tough TG-7 camera, housing, one or two strobes, and various accessories.

The “Wide Angle Kit” (see above) comprises the camera, housing with dome port, Olympus FCON-T02 fisheye lens, tray with dual handles, two Ecko Fiber strobes, strobe arms, and fiber-optic cords—everything you need to shoot a large variety of subjects, from macro to wide angle. The six-inch dome even makes it possible to shoot splits.

The “Deluxe Kit” (see below) consists of the camera, housing, tray with single handle, Ecko Fiber strobe, strobe arm, and fiber-optic cord. With this housing, Ikelite gives you the option of adding the FCON-T02 lens and dome port later—and, of course, a second strobe if desired.

Available from Ikelite, the “Wide Angle Kit” currently retails for $2,825, while the “Deluxe Kit” costs $1,645—the former giving you a $160 discount, the latter saving you almost $90. Similar—but more expensive—kits bundling Ikelite’s DS51 II strobe are no longer available, as the DS51 II has been discontinued. The DS160 II and DS162 have also been discontinued—replaced by the new DS165 and RC165.

  • Nauticam Announces Housing for the Canon PowerShot V1

Nauticam Announces Housing for the Canon PowerShot V1

Nauticam has unveiled its latest housing, the NA-CV1, designed to accommodate Canon’s new point-and-shoot, the PowerShot V1, released in February 2025. The compact (aka vlogging) camera features a 22.3-megapixel 1.4-inch sensor (which is similar in size to Micro four Thirds, but with a 3:2 aspect ratio), a DIGIC X image processor, and a fixed zoom lens with a focal length range equivalent to 16–50mm f/2.8–4.5. Boasting Canon’s Dual Pixel AF II autofocus system, the PowerShot V1 can record uncropped 4K/30p video oversampled from 5.7K and achieves 15fps burst shooting with its mechanical shutter.

For the NA-CV1, Nauticam has opted to use their N50 port system but ship the housing with the N50 3.5-inch acrylic dome port, which allows the full 16–50mm zoom range out of the box. Switching to their N50 Short Port 25 gives users the opportunity to mount various Nauticam water-contact optics, such as the WWL-C (FOV: 130°–71°), WWL-1B (FOV: 130–80º) and SMC/CMC (via Nauticam’s bayonet mount adaptor). Like Nauticam’s other housings for compact cameras, users have the option of adding a tray and handles, an LCD magnifier, and a vacuum valve (via the housing’s M16 port)—the vacuum monitoring and leak detection system is pre-installed.

The NA-CV1 housing is priced at $2,000 and is available now from retailers such as Backscatter.

    The Nauticam NA-CV1 Housing

NA-CV1 is the latest iteration in a lineup of advanced housings for very capable compact cameras supported by Nauticam. Many features found on professional DSLR systems have been integrated into this system, and the result is an underwater housing that allows the user to harness the full potential of this advanced compact camera in the water.

The basic functions and ergonomic enhancements that Nauticam users have grown to know and love are incorporated in NA-CV1. The housing is machined from a solid block of aluminum, then hard anodized to seal out corrosive salt water. It is closed via a simple, yet secure locking rotary latch. The right side of the housing is sculpted to fit the palm of the user’s hand, and Nauticam’s two-stage shutter release lever provides clear differentiation between the half press and full press shutter release positions. All functions are clearly labeled.

The Nauticam leak alarm and vacuum monitoring system is installed as standard equipment. This system provides an audible and visual alert to any water entry in the housing, and when combined with an optional accessory M16 Vacuum Valve II (25625) the watertight integrity of the system can be tested before ever entering the water and monitored during every dive.

Expert product design, modern manufacturing techniques, top quality materials backed by a two-year warranty, and a critical focus on the user experience combine to produce the premier system for Canon Powershot V1.

    The N50 Port System

The NA-CV1 ships with the N50 3.5″ Acrylic Dome Port that allows the full 16–50mm zoom range, but other ports are available from the N50 system. When combined with the 38703 N50 Short Port 25, you can add on the 83203 WWL-C for a converted FOV of 130 degrees to 71 degrees.

  • AOI Unveils Housing for the Sony A7 Mark IV

AOI Unveils Housing for the Sony A7 Mark IV

AOI has announced its new housing for the Sony a7 Mark IV—the latest version of the Japanese company’s entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera. The Mark IV is built around a 33MP BSI-CMOS sensor and the Bionz XR processing engine, offering 10fps continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking and 4K/30p 10-bit 4:2:2 video with no crop. The UH-A7IV housing represents exciting new territory for AOI, which has previously only supported Micro Four Thirds cameras from Olympus and OM System, and makes sense given the newly released UIS-P1 strobe offering compatibility with Sony TTL.

The new housing is clearly designed to offer a compelling alternative to sophisticated but pricey aluminum housings or polycarbonate housings with only basic functionality. Controls are ergonomically positioned around integrated handles, there’s a built-in vacuum check and moisture detection system, and the non-proprietary AX port system means that ports and extensions for a variety of lenses are readily available. The housing features two fiber-optic ports and ships with an LED flash trigger supporting manual mode and Sony TTL (TTL, HSS TTL) with AOI’s UIS-P1 strobe as well as Backscatter’s Hybrid Flash.

A unique feature that sets the housing apart is the “Smart Multi Control Device,” which allows the user to switch between manual and TTL flash modes and features a miniature display that offers useful at-a-glance information about the flash modes and from the water depth monitor and the Vacuum Analyzation and Wet Detection System (VWS). The device uses a built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery that takes 90 minutes to charge and allows for 18 hours of continuous operation.

Available now from retailers such as Backscatter, the AOI UH-A7IV is priced at $1,400.

    PRESS RELEASE

New AOI UH-A7IV, Harnessing the Alpha Advantage Filling the Gap

For many users, the biggest hurdle in underwater photography is the extravagant cost of underwater housings for high-performance cameras, often priced at two to three times the cost of the cameras themselves. On the other hand, affordable housings available in the market frequently lack the reliability and features that inspire confidence. This leaves users with difficult choices: delay their plans, compromise on their ideal setups, or settle for less-than-optimal systems.

AOI has successfully carved a niche by offering high-performance underwater housings that combine user-friendly design, full functionality, and affordability for OM System cameras. Now, AOI aims to bring the same excitement and value to Sony camera users.

The Sony A7IV, though a few years old, remains a smart choice for many photographers. Known for its versatility, the camera boasts a high-resolution sensor, fast and reliable autofocus, and excellent dynamic range—all at a reasonable price in the full frame mirrorless segment. These qualities made it one of the most popular full-frame mirrorless cameras on the market, and it continues to hold its own against newer competitors.

Introducing the NEW AOI UH-A7IV Underwater Housing

The new AOI UH-A7IV underwater housing bridges the gap in the market for Sony A7IV users who find current options either too expensive, too basic, or both.

    Accessing the Alpha Advantage

Camera manufacturers invest heavily in innovation, crafting modern cameras to meet diverse user needs. AOI’s design philosophy complements this vision by ensuring that its underwater housings are more than just waterproof enclosures—they are extensions of the cameras themselves.

    The 3C’s of AOI’s design philosophy—Creative, Compatible, and Consumer-Centric—shine in the UH-A7IV.

    Creative

    • Rechargeable Smart Multi Control Device with Mini Display: Clear instructions and status updates for various operations, including flash modes (manual and TTL), depth mode, VWS mode, alerts, control device battery status and depth indicator. To improve reliability and connectivity between the camera’s hot shoe and the housing’s Control Device, AOI has upgraded a cable-less connector.

    • Sony TTL and HSS Compatibility: Seamless integration with the AOI UIS-P1 strobe and Backscatter’s Hybrid Flash.

    • Improved VWS: The Vacuum Analyzation and Wet Detection System now incorporates an over-ride mechanism, to ensure proper vacuum sealing is conducted to prevent errors.

    • Built-in Ergonomic Handles: Easy access to buttons and effortless handling.

    Compatibility

    • Non-Proprietary Port System: By utilizing a popular port system, a wide range of ports and extensions for different lenses are readily available.

    • Standardized Mounts: Compatible with aftermarket and AOI accessories including plug type ports for fiber optic connectivity.

    • Service-Friendly Design: Uniform buttons and O-rings simplify maintenance.

    Consumer-Centric

    • Full Camera Functionality: Provides access to all key camera features.

    • Affordable Pricing: Lowers the barrier to entry for underwater photography for a full frame mirrorless camera.

    • User-Focused Engineering: Lightweight, travel-friendly, and easy to maintain.

Crafting an underwater housing is both an art and a science. AOI’s UH-A7IV embodies this harmony, balancing the capabilities of the Sony A7IV with the practical needs of photographers. The result is one of the most complete and user-friendly housings AOI has ever produced.

  • Nauticam Unveils Housing for the Panasonic Lumix S1RII

Nauticam Unveils Housing for the Panasonic Lumix S1RII

Panasonic may have only just announced the arrival of their flagship photo-centric full-frame mirrorless camera, the S1RII, but Nauticam has wasted no time engineering their matching housing, the NA-S1RII. Much smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the S1RII—arriving five years after its predecessor—boasts a new 44.3MP BSI CMOS image sensor and L² image processing engine, which combine to produce some impressive numbers: 10fps burst shooting with continuous AF using the manual shutter (and 40fps with the electronic shutter) plus 8K/30p 10-bit video recording with 14 stops of dynamic range.

The new NA-S1RII housing offers all of the features we’ve come to expect from Nauticam: a full complement of dials, levers and buttons ergonomically placed around integrated handles; an M24 bulkhead for attaching external monitors or recorders via HDMI 2.0; full compatibility with the company’s water-contact optics (such as the FCP and EMWL); and vacuum check and leak detection electronics as standard. Built-in fiber optic bulkheads mean it’s a breeze to add a Mini Flash Trigger for rapid-fire manual flash triggering.

Available now from retailers such as Backscatter, the NA-S1RII is priced at $5,184.

    PRESS RELEASE

    INTRODUCING NA-S1RII

    The Panasonic S1RII

The Panasonic S1RII seems more of a redesign than an evolution, both in terms of capabilities as well as form factor. The new S1RII is built around a 44MP 8.1K sensor that allows for both high resolution stills capture as well as 8K video at up to 30p with low rolling shutter effect. The S1RII can also record ProRes RAW or 422 at selected resolutions and frame rates. Promising improved autofocus, more in-line with its peers, the S1RII features phase-detection and enhanced subject tracking.

In addition to an overall smaller footprint, the S1RII also has relocated ‘Movie” mode from the exposure mode dial to a dedicated switch below the drive mode dial. This frees up the exposure dial to have 5 custom mode positions which have discrete settings for stills and video mode.

In addition to the high-resolution video capture specs, the S1RII also features Panasonic’s dual-gain ISO. A new Dynamic Range Expansion mode can be enabled when shooting in V-Log to gain an additional stop of highlight information. The S1RII also adds a false-color overlay of pixel brightness to help both still and video shooters prevent clipping. Support for real-time LUTs and Open Gate Capture show the S1RII is really a full-featured hybrid camera.

    The Nauticam NA-S1RII Underwater Housing

The Nauticam NA-S1RII is a professional aluminum underwater housing that delivers fast and intuitive access to all the essential controls of the Panasonic S1RII camera underwater. Pairing the NA-S1RII with Nauticam’s extensive line of Water Contact Optics and accessories further enhances the camera’s already impressive still and video capabilities.

    Premium Professional Optics

As with the NA-S1R, the NA-S1RII is built around the N120 port system and allows for those moving from the NA-S1R to carry over their port and lens configurations unchanged. This large port opening also allows for a wide range of lenses to be used as well as extensive integration with Nauticam’s Water Contact Optics that offer the best possible underwater image quality.

    Mission Control

The NA-S1RII allows for efficient camera control underwater with most essential functions placed within easy reach of the ergonomic handles. The S1RII moves the video/still mode selection to a dedicated switch which is now easily accessed with a lever located atop the NA-S1RII allowing for rapid switching underwater.

Thumb levers near the left and right side handles actuate the image review and AF-ON buttons while levers for Af-mode and switching between the EVF and LCD are also within easy reach.

    HDMI Output

The NA-S1RII is equipped with the large M24 bulkhead that allows for the use of Nauticam’s HDMI system to attached optional external monitors or recorders. The 8 1/4″-20 holes atop the housing provide a solid base for mounting these or other larger accessories.

    Flash Triggering

For rapid-fire manual flash triggering, the NA-S1RII is compatible with the Mini Flash Trigger (26305) which uses small LED units to trigger external flashes via Nauticam Universal Fiber Optic Cables (26216).

Vacuum Check and Leak Detection System

The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection electronics are shipped with the NA-S1RII as standard equipment. Combined with an optional accessory vacuum valve (PN 25625) this monitoring system provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur.

The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.

  • Ikelite Announces Housing for the Nikon Z5 II

Ikelite Announces Housing for the Nikon Z5 II

Ikelite has announced its housing for the Nikon Z5 II. The second-generation entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera is a significant step up from its predecessor. The 24MP backside-illuminated sensor is paired with Nikon’s latest EXPEED 7 processing engine, promising excellent low-light performance and doubling the burst shooting speed with the manual shutter—11fps with full AF/AE compared to the 4.5fps of the Z5. In addition, unlike its predecessor, the Z5 II can shoot 4K/30p video with no crop.

With its housing, Ikelite aims to get the most out of the new camera. As well as the company’s signature ABS-PC body with transparent back, Dry Lock (DL) port system, and oversized control levers for shutter release and autofocus, the housing can accommodate Ikelite’s USB Charging and Data Transfer Bulkhead, meaning you never have to take the camera out of the housing. Needless to say, if you want to be able to switch between TTL and manual strobe exposure on the fly, you have the option of adding the DL1 DS Link TTL Converter—and a couple of DS strobes.

Available from retailers such as Backscatter, Ikelite’s Nikon Z5 II housing is priced at $1,895.

    Pre-Dive Checks

There is no greater assurance than being able to see your camera and o-ring seal through the back of the housing. Our signature open-groove design suspends the rear o-ring in a natural position that is easier to maintain and more reliable than forcing the o-ring into a channel. Once the housing is closed you can see the o-ring form a solid, waterproof seal.

We recommend using a pump with gauge to pull a vacuum on the housing and check for leaks prior to entering the water.

    Construction

Our specially formulated ABS-PC blend housing is highly durable yet significantly lighter than aluminum. The light color keeps your camera cooler when shooting in warm, sunny environments.

    Lens Support

Ikelite lens ports are the lightest on the market, yet robust and capable of standing up to rough surf.

We support a wide variety of lenses. Most popular zoom lenses and select focus rings can be engaged using simple gearing that puts adjustment right at your fingertips. Zoom and focus gears differ depending on which lens you are using.

Lens ports and zoom gears sold separately. Refer to the appropriate port chart for compatibility information.

    Wi-Fi Transfer

Use the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi feature to download photos to another device without removing the camera from the housing. The Wi-Fi feature is only usable above water within close proximity to the connected device.

    Compatibility

Unless otherwise noted, this housing does not accommodate the use of add-on grips, battery grips, eyepieces, LCD covers, or other accessories.

Differences in lens and control placement prevent other camera models from being used in or adapted to this housing. We are not aware of any other models which may be used in or adapted to this housing.

SeaLife Announces SportDiver S Underwater Housing for Smartphones

After the runaway success of their SportDiver Ultra housing, SeaLife Cameras has unveiled the SportDiver S, which offers a more-compact form factor along the lines of the original SportDiver. According to SeaLife, the new version of the housing offers compatibility with all current iPhone models, as well as all but the very largest Android smartphones.

Depth-rated to 100 feet (30 meters)—a little less than the 130-feet (40-meter) rating of the Ultra version—the SportDiver S has similar controls and functionality to its bigger sibling. The housing features the same rectangular port used on the original SportDiver and the SportDiver Ultra, ensuring compatibility with accessories such as their six-inch Wide Angle Dome Lens and 52mm Wide-Angle Dome Lens (via their 67mm-52mm Lens Adapter)

Like the Ultra, the “S” model boasts the Leak Avoidance System, which features a pre-dive pressure test to ensure the housing is properly sealed before entering the water. Should your waterproof seal be compromised, the system also includes a moisture sensor that activates an on-screen warning. Unlike the Ultra, the new model does not ship with a red color-correction filter. Filters—red, magenta, and yellow—must be purchased separately.

Available now from retailers such as Backscatter, the SportDiver S costs $300—a full $100 less than the price of the Ultra model.

    PRESS RELEASE

SeaLife Unveils New SportDiver S Underwater Smartphone Housing

MOORESTOWN, NJ – SeaLife has introduced the all-new SportDiver S, an underwater smartphone housing designed for divers & snorklers of all abilities. The new compact housing dives to a depth of 100 feet (30 meters) and offers several updates over the original SportDiver model, the new “S” version offers compatibility with all iPhone models including Max sizes, as well as many Android smartphones.

Engineered for absolute reliability and ease of use, the SportDiver S allows divers and snorkelers to capture stunning photos and videos with their smartphones down to depths of 100 feet (30 meters). Constructed from premium polycarbonate, stainless steel, hard-anodized aluminum, and optical-grade glass, the housing weighs just 22.6 ounces pounds (641 grams) on land while offering almost neutral buoyancy in water, depending on the smartphone used.

Ergonomically designed for comfortable handling and ease of use, the SportDiver S features a large shutter lever and rear control buttons, enabling effortless operation even while wearing dive gloves. Photographers can expand their creativity by utilizing advanced camera settings such as zoom control, exposure adjustment, auto/manual focus, white balance, lens selection, RAW+JPEG mode, and much more, depending on the phone model.

The new housing works with the free SportDiver camera app, available for both Android and iOS platforms. The app when combined with the housing, turns a smartphone into a highly capable underwater camera, and easily switches between photo and video modes, harnessing the native camera technology of the smartphone to deliver the high-quality images and videos users have come to expect. Additionally, the app’s power-save mode temporarily turns off the camera and dims the display, conserving battery life while keeping instant accessibility with a single touch.

The SportDiver S housing uses Bluetooth® Low Energy wireless technology, which automatically connects to the user’s smartphone when opening the SportDiver app. The free SportDiver app is compatible with iPhones and Android smartphones, which are available for free download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store under the name “SportDiver”.  Unlike most other apps, the SportDiver app does not request your email address or personal information, ensuring your complete privacy.  The SportDiver housing features ultra-low power consumption, powered by two AAA batteries that last over 50 hours of continuous use.

For enhanced imaging results, three optional removable underwater color-correction filters are available for purchase; Red for restoring natural underwater colors, Magenta for color correction of green water, or Yellow for deep blue water and fluorescent lights. The filters can be attached or removed while submerged and include a safety tether to prevent loss.

SeaLife also offers optional lenses and a 52mm/67mm lens mount to further expand divers imaging creativity.

Designed for added lights and versatility, the SportDiver S housing features three 1/4-20 tripod mount options, which allows it to be seamlessly mounted with any standard tripod-threaded light or light tray, such as SeaLife’s own Sea Dragon underwater photo/video lights. For best results, SeaLife recommends using an attached light source when diving with the SportDiver S.

SportDiver S with Sea Dragon 3000F Color Boost Photo-Video Light

Ensuring maximum protection for the user’s smartphone, the SportDiver S incorporates a sturdy holding spring and rubber grip tabs that securely holds the smartphone in place, providing shock-protection for small and larger phone models.

Protecting your valuable smartphone remains a top priority. A Leak Avoidance System features a pre-dive pressure test to ensure the housing is airtight and waterproof before entering the water. In addition to the pre-dive pressure test, an internal moisture sensor activates an on-screen warning in the unlikely event the waterproof seal is compromised.

The SportDiver S features a new interior design that protects sensitive components and electronics from damage in the event water drops accidentally enter the housing when opening the door after diving. The anti-fogging “Moisture Muncher” capsule prevents fogging and internal condensation.

The housing is sealed with a high-temperature resistant silicone O-ring seal and a robust cam-lock sealing latch, ensuring a secure, waterproof seal.  Extra O-rings and O-ring lubricant are included.

To ensure compatibility, users should consult SeaLife’s “fit-guide” on the website (www.sealife-cameras.com/sportdiver-compatibility/) or simply scan the QR code provided to determine if their phone model will fit seamlessly into the SportDiver S housing.

  • Nauticam Releases Housing for the Sony a1 II and a9 III

Nauticam Releases Housing for the Sony a1 II and a9 III

Perhaps two of the most exciting pro-level cameras on the market at the moment are Sony’s a1 Mark II and a9 Mark III. The a9 III remains the only full-frame mirrorless camera with a global shutter, giving you jaw-dropping specs like blackout-free continuous shooting at 120fps with AF, no-crop 4K/120p video, and the ability to sync with flash at up to 1/80,000s. (The compromise, however, is the sensor’s relative low pixel count of 24.6MP and base ISO of 250. Meanhile, the a1 II is a different, but equally capable, beast: At 50.1MP, its stacked sensor boasts double the pixels, burst shooting is 20fps in lossless RAW, and there’s both 8K/30p and 4K/120p video recording on offer.

The kicker is that these two cameras are all but identical externally, so a single housing can accommodate either one… Enter Nauticam’s NA-α1II housing, designed to get the most out both the a1 II and a9 III. Needless to say, ergonomic control placement is foremost: There’s a dual thumb lever alongside the right hangle and a single thumb lever on the left, as well as another left-hand lever operating a customizable button. In addition to fiber-optic ports for your strobes, there’s an M14 accessory port that could be used for an electrical bulkhead if preferred. There’s also a large-bore M24 accessory port for hooking up a monitor/recorder such as the Atomos Ninja V via HDMI 2.0.

Nauticam’s housing costs $4,920 and is available for from Backscatter now.

    PRODUCT INFORMATION

    INTRODUCING NA-α1II

The Sony a1 II and a9 III Cameras

The Sony a1 II and a9 III Cameras are Sony’s pro-level bodies that cover the entire gamut of imaging requirements for both still and video shooters.

    Sony a1 II

The a1 II is Sony’s flagship high-resolution camera body with incredible autofocus and impressive video capabilities. Built around a 50MP stacked BSI CMOS sensor and powered by the advanced BIONZ XR processor, the a1 II features upgrades pulled from the a7R V in autofocus, subject tracking, and IBIS. For scenarios demanding high resolution paired with ultra-fast and accurate autofocus and up to 8K30p video, the a1 II can deliver top tier results.

Key Sony a1 II Camera Specs

    • 50MP Full-Frame Stacked BSI CMOS Sensor
    • 8K 30p and 4K 120p Video in 10-Bit
    • 8.5-Stop IBIS + Dynamic Stabilization
    • 9.44m-Dot EVF with 240 fps Refresh Rate
    • Dual CFexpress Type A/SD Card Slots

    Sony a9 III

The a9 III fills the role of a high sensitivity sensor with a true global shutter. Capable of shooting 4K 120fps from the full sensor area, the a9 III produces very clean high frame rate video even in less than ideal lighting conditions. The a9 III’s global shutter allows for shooting at incredibly high shutter speeds to maximize available strobe power and recycle time, even in strongly backlit scenes. Shooting into the sun or in high-ambient light scenarios at lower apertures opens up a world of opportunities for both wide and macro photography and also eliminates any rolling shutter effects in video.

Key Sony a9 III Camera Specs

    • 24.6MP Full-Frame Global Shutter Sensor
    • Flash Sync at up to 1/80,000 Sec.
    • 4K 120p 10-bit Video; S-Log3 & S-Cinetone
    • 759-Point Phase-Detect AF with Tracking
    • 8-Stop 5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization
    • 9.44m-Dot EVF with 240 fps Refresh Rate
    • Dual CFexpress Type A/SD Card Slots

    Shared Specs

The a1 II and a9 III share a body which makes the NA-a1ii housing possible without any adapters, modifications or loss of features.  Both cameras also share the incredible 9.4M-dot electronic viewfinder from the A7RV.

    THE NA-α1II HOUSING

The NA-α1II Housing is based on the Nauticam NA-a9III housing and can accommodate both the Sony a1II and a9III camera bodies with no adapters of modifications. This truly makes this housing one of the ultimate underwater imaging tools able to capture high resolution as well as low-light stills and high resolution, low-noise and high-framerate video.

    Mission Control

The driving force behind Nauticam housings is to place controls where they should be, within easy reach of the ergonomic handles for an intuitive and smooth underwater filming experience. The NA-α1II features a dual action thumb lever on near the right handle that actuates the ‘AF-ON’ and ‘REC’ buttons. Near the left handle is a thumb lever for ‘PLAYBACK’. The shutter release, main and sub command dials are also all within easy reach without taking your hands off the handles.

    Professional Optics

The NA-α1II housing is built around the N100 port opening allowing for a wide variety of optics solutions from extreme wide-angle to super macro. In addition to supporting traditional wide angle dome port and macro flat-port configurations, the NA-α1II can support much of Nauticam’s range of Water Contact Optics from the Fisheye Conversion Port (FCP) to the Extended Macro Wide Lens (EMWL). To truly unlock the creative possibilities of these two cameras, pairing them with either the WACP-1B, WACP-C or WWL-1B gives impressive 130º rectilinear field-of-view, ~0″ minimum focus distance, full zoom through capabilities and the incredible corner sharpness. If more coverage is needed, the FCP provides 170º fisheye coverage with full zoom through and close focus capabilities. Take your macro imaging to the next level with either increased 2.3X magnification with the new SMC-3 close-up lens or the wide-angle macro look of the EMWL 160º lens.

    EVF Enhancement

Both the Sony α1II and α9 III feature the same ultra-high resolution 9.4M-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF).  To truly take full advantage of this underwater consider pairing it with one of the Nauticam Enhanced 0.8:1 Viewfinders.  These underwater viewfinders are designed to give full edge-to-edge magnified viewing and include a diopter that can be adjusted underwater to match your vision.

    HDMI 2.0

A large bore M24 bulkhead is located at the front of the housing for use with HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 1.4 (with a step-down adapter to M16) external monitors and recorders.  An additional M10 threaded mounting position near the front center of the housing also makes using an external monitor even easier.

    Vacuum Check and Leak Detection

The housing comes with electronics pre-installed for Nauticam’s Vacuum Check and Leak Detection system, requiring only the optional M14 Vacuum Valve (25624). This monitoring system provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing.

    Strobe Triggering

Triggering of external strobes is accomplished via the integrated fiber-optic bulkheads when using the optional Mini Flash Trigger for Sony (26302).  Electronic triggering is also available via an optional Nikonos or Ikelite Style Bulkhead.

    What’s In The Box:
